Farm House Out, Mid-Century Mod In?

With the end of Fixer Upper approaching it has me wondering will the farm house trend end as well?

I hope the trend doesn't completely end, as I love the look of raw wood and simple designs!  I guess only time will tell how far the style fades, but with the surge of Mid-Century Modern in the interior design community one can assume this look will eventually push out the farm house trend as the top look.

I have found several articles, which have examples of, blending the Mid-Century Modern look with the farm house look.  The styles tie together great!  The main updates to transition between the two are updating your accents (hardware, light fixtures and furniture)...then boom you've got a Mid-Century Modern Farm House!  Check out this style on the link below for some DIY projects to blend the two http://thecottagemarket.com/2017/07/mid-century-modern-meets-contemporary-farmhouse-diy-projects.html

I personally love the clean look of the Mid-Century Modern style and am excited to incorporate some of these touches into the next renovation we do!

What are your thoughts...Is farm house style on its way out or is it timeless?  Is the Mid-Century Modern trend going to be a short or long term trend?
